The Ritz-Carlton at Bachelor Gulch is a popular mountain wedding venue here in Colorado. I’ve shot near 20 weddings at this venue and know it very well. While you can get some very beautiful shots here, I’d warn most couples that there aren’t too many locations to get portrait photos at. Most people have their wedding in the Colorado mountains so they can have just that, mountains in their photos. Unfortunately Bachelor Gulch isn’t known for its view of the mountains. This particular wedding had some off and on rainy weather which limited our photo locations even more. There’s a section of condos attached to the hotel that have a small walkway and courtyard that are helpful in harsh sun and in climate weather. Mad for a nice first look spot!
Another thing to note about this venue is the small and narrow ceremony spot. It will fit a decent amount of people, but it’s very narrow as it’s set up on a bridge. One thing to know is that it makes the photographer more noticeable during your ceremony since we have to constantly use the main isle to move around and shoot different angles.
Overall, it’s a great location and venue for your wedding. This reception was indoors but I’ve also had a few with a large rental tent outside near the chairlift which adds to a wonderful mountain vibe. Either way, you can’t go wrong with having your wedding at the Ritz Carlton in Beaver Creek, Colorado!
